Her award-winning photography has been featured in prominent publications such as the Sun-Sentinel and Boca Life Magazine, reflecting a longstanding reputation for quality, professionalism, and visual storytelling.
Gina is deeply engaged in documentary storytelling and local history preservation. She used her story telling video skills to develop a documentary project focused on Pearl City, one of Florida’s earliest African American communities in Boca Raton, originally established by farm labor workers who helped shape the region’s agricultural roots. Supported through grants from Florida Atlantic University and the Historical Society of Boca Raton, the project aimed to preserve and share the rich cultural legacy, personal histories, and enduring contributions of Pearl City residents. Gina also collaborates with the Historical Society of Boca Raton to video record interviews with longtime Boca Raton citizens, documenting firsthand accounts of the city’s earliest days and preserving these invaluable stories for future generations.
Gina also possesses a profound commitment to humanitarian photography, having captured relief efforts for Food for the Poor throughout the Caribbean and Latin America, earning accolades from the Catholic Press Association. She embarked on her photography journey as a staff photographer for the South Florida Newspaper Network, where her versatility in handling diverse assignments garnered multiple awards from the Florida Press Association. Her artistic vision has also been showcased in exhibitions, including the Women in Photojournalism show. Gina holds an Associate of Science in Photography from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and completed an enriching internship with The Miami Herald, where she honed her skills in breaking news, sports, and feature photography.
